Francine Jane Hudson, 73, Vale, SD, died Monday, August 31, 2009, at her daughter's home in Piedmont.

Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Nathan Ennis officiating. Burial will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Francine was born April 15, 1936, at Deadwood, SD, to Matt and Lulu (Patron) Aijala. Her childhood was spent in the Pluma Area. On February 13, 1955, she married William S. "Bill" Hudson.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Hudson, Vale; five sons, Dave (Colleen) Hudson, Piedmont, SD, Greg (Sandy) Hudson, Sturgis, Billy Hudson, Sturgis, Wayne Hudson, Piedmont, and Brad Hudson, Sturgis; two daughters, Mary O'Grady, Sturgis, and Lenny Tollefson, Piedmont; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mamie Boltz, Deadwood, and Helen (Lyle) Vandenberg, Deadwood; and special friends, Donna Hudson, Shannon O'Grady, Mike Jurisch, Darnell Gillman, Carmen Whinery, Gretchen Cline, and Mike Sterrett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, two grandsons, and one son-in-law.
