Francis Burckhard, 68, Passed away on Tuesday September 16, 2025

Francis was born on October 12 1956 in Deadwood to Frank and Phyllis Burckhard. The family moved to Sturgis in 1962. Francis graduated from Sturgis High School and after high school Francis enlisted in the Army National Guard. Francis went to work at Colloid Bentonite plant in Upton, Wyoming until it closed in 2002. He moved back to Sturgis where his parents lived and work at Silverado Casino in Deadwood until he retired.

Francis enjoyed fishing with his dad and brothers, he also loved to take rides in car through the Black Hills. Francis was big fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Washington Redskins football.

He is survived by his 3 brothers, John Burckhard of Belle Fourche, Mike (Theresa) Burckhard of Park City KS, Gary (Katrine) Burckhard of Upton Wyoming; 2 nephews, Dean (Shyann) Burckhard, of Gillette, WY, Jaspper (Breanna) Burckhard, of Upton WY. Great Nephew, Ryker Studie, Gillette WY. Great Niece, Laken Burckhard, Upton, WY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Phyllis Burckhard.
