Francis passed away at Fort Meade on Saturday, May 22, 2021

Mass of Christian Burial for Francis McKenna, 73, of Belle Fourche will be Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 2 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Sturgis with burial following at Black Hills National Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Black Hills Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Francis McKenna was born December 1, 1947 in Suffolk, Virginia, to parents John and Carroll (Mason) McKenna.  He married to Mary Heinbaugh on February 14, 1972 in Sturgis, SD.  Francis enjoyed wood working, chip carving, camping and spending time with his family.  He especially enjoyed visiting with people.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister.

He is survived by his wife, Mary McKenna; and sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Kristie McKenna of Belle Fourche and Brett and Tawney McKenna of Watford City, ND; his brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Kathy McKenna of Virginia; and five grandchildren; Taylor Erin Watts, Taylor Kay McKenna, Morgan McKenna, Reese McKenna and Carter McKenna; and one great-grandchild, Asher Lee Mette.

Arrangements are with Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis.
