Frank Warren Harwood passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

Frank was born on December 13, 1946, in Sturgis, SD, to Myrun and Sophie (Gregor) Harwood.  He had four brothers, Paul, Marvin, Alan, and Roger Harwood, and one sister, Betty (Harwood) Keffler. Frank spent his childhood on the family ranch near Union Center, SD. He graduated from Sturgis High School and attended Black Hills State University for 2 years. He worked for the Veterans Administration hospital at Fort Meade for more than 20 years and served in the South Dakota National Guard, retiring after 20 years.

Frank was a kind and generous friend, a compassionate caregiver, and had a curious and creative spirit that he shared with family and friends, whether through his interest in making new and adventurous recipes or his favorite hobby of woodworking. He will be forever remembered as a loving and patient husband, father and grandfather. His family always came first in all things.

Frank is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Linda (Frey) Harwood; his daughters, Robyn (Monte) Kniffen, Kimberly (Chris) Ross; son, Chad (Tiffany) Harwood; and grandchildren, Clare, and Glen Kniffen, Corrina, and Madeline Ross, William Kayser, Londin, Dylon, and Dawson Harwood, Niklaus Magelky, Isaak Bailey, Julian Hester, Luke, Kjell, and Lille Fernandez; and great-granddaughter, Harper Burkhalter-Harwood; as well as his brothers, Marvin, Alan, and Roger; and his sister, Betty.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Myrun and Sophie Harwood, and his brother, Paul Harwood.
