Obituary

Franklin M. Johnson of Tucson Arizona died December 16, 2011. He was born April 24, 1929, on the family farm out side of Friend, Nebraska to John Walter T Johnson and Karen Marie Hansen Johnson, the youngest of five children. He joined the US Air Force in 1948, serving in Guam, Morocco, England, Australia, Canada, and varies bases in the US. He was honorably discharged from the 4080th Air Squadron after 22 years. He then went to work for the US Postal Service as a Supervisor of Mails in Commerce City and retired from there in 1989. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Stowe;grandchildren, John, Nathan, Patrick, Phillip (Jenny), Nina and Anastasia Stowe; great grandchildren, Michael, Patrick, Adalyn and Chloe Stowe, all of Glenwood Springs; a sister, Mildred Snow of Houston, Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews; and a friend Maxine Arvilla of Tucson, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; two brothers, Carl and Oscar; and a sister, Anna Jensen. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with Chaplain (Ret.)Herbert B. Cleveland officiating. Miltary honors will be performed by the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard. Memorials can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, American Diabetic Association or charity of your choice.
