Gail Theo Reed was born August 30th, 1946, in Mobridge, SD to Ted and Leota (Clevenger) Sogge and was later joined by 3 Brothers Leo, Garry, and Randy.  She started her life growing up on ranches near Trail City, Mclaughlin, and West of Mobridge, SD on the Missouri River and attended school through the 8th grade in Mobridge.

In 1960 she moved with her parents to Fairburn, SD to a ranch along French Creek. Gail attended her first two years of High School in Rapid City then transferred to Hot Springs High School graduating in 1964.   She then attended College at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD and in 1965 married Tim Conrad.

Upon their Marriage they moved to Mississippi and also lived in Tennessee, and Arkansas. While living in Mississippi their two children, Virgina and John, were born.  In 1972 they moved to the Hart Ranch near Hermosa SD. They divorced in 1979, and she then moved her family to Rapid City, SD.  continued her college education, graduating from the National College.

She founded a CPA firm and taught at National College.   With her CPA business, she loved seeing new businesses start and succeed. On July 4th, 1981, she married Thomas Reed.

In 2003 Tom and Gail moved to the ranch she grew up on near Fairburn along French creek and built a new home where she spent her remaining years enjoying the scenery and quiet atmosphere of the Black Hills.

Gail had many skills and hobbies including playing the piano for several churches, Shakey's pizza and the Hermosa Hillbillies; sewing, styling hair, gardening, remodeling homes, carpentry work, woodworking, restoring/ refinishing old furniture, photography, canning, reading, collecting rocks, learning new things, and she loved traveling as she was always ready for a trip. She traveled to all 50 states and numerous countries; she and Tom also enjoyed going on numerous cruises.  She held many positions with civic organizations, Church Response, and the Women's Network. Gail very involved in her church to include youth leader, Sunday School teacher, Ladies auxiliary and church secretary.

Gail was a lady with deep Christian faith and practiced her Christianity daily, always putting others first, she always said: "God is in control of my life and that is exactly where I want him" she enjoyed teaching others when she could see the lights of understanding come into someone's eyes.

Gail is survived by her Husband, Tom Reed; Daughter,  Virginia (Robert) Bradford, Rapid City SD; Son, John (Deb) Conrad, Fairburn SD; grandchildren;  Keara (Justin) Ashley, Dominic (Katelyn) Bradford, Trevor Bradford, Kayton (Jessica) Wilson, Jazzy Potter, Shyler (Heather) French and Bohnam Conrad; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Leo Sogge Fairburn, SD, Gary (Lynn) Sogge Blackhawk, SD, and Randy (Peggy) Sogge Hill City, SD, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Ted and Leota Sogge; two grandchildren, Drew and Destiny and numerous cousins.

Gail Theo Reed2025, 79, passed away at her home on July 22, 2025.

Burial will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025, 1:30 p.m. at Silver City Cemetery, Silver City, SD. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
