Gary Norman Anderson, 56, Whitewood, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at his home in Whitewood.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Bullwackers Saloon in Whitewood.
Gary was born November 14, 1956, at Deadwood, SD, to Norman and Paddy (Gurdis) Anderson. He was raised in Spearfish and graduated from Spearfish High School in 1975.
Gary married Denise Davirro and the couple moved to Arizona where Gary worked at a feed and grain company for 11 years before moving back to Spearfish in 1989. He worked at the body shop in St. Onge for Denny Rehorst for several years before moving on to D&T Excavating (Deloris and Morris Hoffman) as a heavy equipment operator. In 2001, he went to Knechts in Spearfish where he was the yard receiver for four years. He then went to work for Black Thunder Coal Mine in Gillette, WY, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.
On February 18, 2006, he married Nadine Morton at Lead, SD. They enjoyed fishing anywhere, anytime. Gary chartered many trips in the Great Lakes and on big water. Gary and Nadine hosted many fish fries over the last several years.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Anderson, Whitewood; sons, Dustin Anderson, Phoenix, AZ, Dennis (Jennifer) Morton, Rapid City, and Jessie Morton, Lead; daughter, Katie Morton, Red Lodge, MT; brothers, Wayne (Arlis) Lewis, Rapid City, Skip (Allie) Lewis, Hulett, WY, and David (Betty) Anderson, Omaha, NE; one grandson, Kaen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
