Gary Hudelson 68, of Sturgis, SD, died Friday, October 30, 2020 after complications with multiple medical issues. He was the youngest child of five born to Raymond and Maxine Hudelson in Armour, SD. He was a graduate of Sturgis Brown High School and attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
Gary married Bonnie Henry-Gorr on February 29, 1972. He started working as a logger soon after, and some of his happiest times were spent in the Black Hills as a logger. He loved fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren. Gary caught some of the biggest northern pikes ever in this last summer of his life. He was also an avid model plane enthusiast, building and flying his own creations.
Gary is survived by his older brother, Walter (Mary) Hudelson of Faith, SD; and his five children, Kory (Sarah) Hudelson, Jerod (Jen) Hudelson, Kalli (Bradley) Tillett, Lanise Hudelson, and Kari Hudelson. He was also a grandfather to 16 grandchildren, Trystan, Corey Lee, Emery, Bonnie, Thomas, Aaron, Lily, Kyla, Noah, Braden, Abigail, Maddelyn, Chasin, Joey, Adam, and Eloise. He was also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Maxine Hudelson; and his sisters, Karen Crockford of Faith, SD, Roberta Diede of Gillette, WY, and Janet Long of Rapid City, SD.
Gary loved and was loved by his family. He will be missed and will forever be in our hearts.
