IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gayann B.
Cressy
November 24, 1963 – July 11, 2021
GayAnn B. Cressy, 57, of Summerset, SD, died Sunday, July 11, 2021, with her husband and son by her side at Monument Health Rapid City hospital.
Ann was born on November 24, 1963, Wyoming and was the daughter of Roland B. and Ruth M. Hallinger. Ann was raised in Spearfish, SD, and graduated high school in 1981. She went on to attend college in Watertown, SD, to become a nurse. After receiving her degree, she went to work at Fort Meade VA Hospital in Sturgis, SD, were she worked for 26 years. After leaving Fort Meade she went on to work at Fountain Springs.
Ann was blessed to have welcomed her first son, Justin in August of 1980, and then her second son, Tyler in December 1991. While working at Fort Meade she met the love of her life, Gene Cressy, and they were married on July 18, 2011, at Lions Park in Sturgis. This marriage brought on 2 more stepdaughters, Khrystyne and Ashley, that Ann loved like her own.
Ann was the type of person that if anyone needed help or someone to talk to, she would be right there for you without any judgement to lend a hand or to just be supportive and give advice. Anyone who knows Ann knew that she had a passion for riding motorcycle, collecting her barbies, playing with her 3 doggies, and spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her husband, Gene of Summerset, SD; her sons, Justin (Michelle) Keiry of Spearfish, SD, and Tyler Boardman of Pierre, SD; her stepdaughters, Khrystyne (Paul) Hollingsworth of Sioux Falls, SD, and Ashley (Richard) White of Fairbanks, AK; her five grandchildren, Avyona Keiry, Nevaeh Cressy, Jennifer Dummer, Jacqueline Dummer, and Gideon Hollingsworth.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Roland (Ruth) Hallinger; her in-laws, Gene (Carol) Cressy.
