George Mervin Allman 90 of Fort Meade passed away Friday March 11, 2011 at the Fort Meade VA LTC after a courageous battle with cancer with his beloved family by his side.

George was a distinguished WWII Veteran and was also awarded the prestigious Purple Heart for his courage. George enjoyed the rest of his life as a carpenter and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughters Rita Andrews and husband Sam of Little Rock, AR, Terri Vincenzetti and husband Frank, Laura Balfour and husband David, Joy Deboer, and Diane Knaak, all of Salt Lake City, UT, Stacie Allman of Elkhorn WI, 15 Grandchildren, 17 Great grandchildren, and 1 Great great-grandson.
George was preceded in death by his wife Lola Allman, Great grandsons Dayton Allman and Seth Aston, 9 sisters, 5 brothers, and his parents.

Visitation will be held Wednesday March 16, 2011 from 9:00am till service time which will be 12:00 pm at Black Hills Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Sturgis with Rev. Kay Jennings and Chaplin Ralph Vencil officiating.

Interment will be 1:30pm Wednesday March 16, 2011 at Black Hills National Cemetery with full Military Honor by Sturgis Honor Guard.
