Obituary

Funeral services for George "David" Beehler, 89, White Owl, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Central Meade County Community Center in Union Center with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial follows at the White Owl Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the White Owl Cemetery.

George David Beehler was born May 27, 1925, 7.5 miles southeast of White Owl. He was baptized in White Owl Dam, and attended K-8 school within horse or walking distance of White Owl. The ultimate rancher, cowboy, and friend to all, died May 25, 2014. David was always there to help with branding, fence mending, and haying any time needed.

David took over the ranch at a young age after his father, had his first stroke. There he helped to support his father, George, his mother Helen, and his sisters, Barbara, Helen, and Mira.

David loved to ranch, ride horses, fish, hunt, garden, and visit with neighbors and friends. For several years, he raised Halloween pumpkins for the Enning and Union Center children. The children came and picked out their very own Halloween pumpkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barbara Stallbaum. Survivors include his sister Helen Miller of Sturgis and her sons Dan, Jerry, Ken and Al Miller. His sister Mira Burke of Spearfish, and her sons, Kelly and Ted Corean, Kevin and Shaun Burke and daughter Shannon Nielsen.

He was blind but now can see.
