He lived in Sioux City, Woodbury, Iowa, United States in 2001 and Gillette, Crook, Wyoming, United States in 2008. He died on 17 February 2008, in Sturgis, Meade, South Dakota, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried Black Hills National Cemetery, in Sturgis, Meade, South Dakota.
