Geraldine "Gerrie" Barry was born in Cottage Grove, Oregon, on June 19, 1939, to Arlette and Ernest Weisz.  The family moved to Rhame, ND, when she was 6 weeks old.  The family stayed and worked there until she was 7 years old and then they moved to Vale, SD, to a farm.  Later, she attended school in Vale, SD, until her sophomore year.  They then moved to Sturgis, SD.  She worked at the movie theater where she met her love and husband, Dale Barry.  They were married in September of 1959, and spent 29 years together until he passed in 1988.  Gerrie helped Dale with various jobs over the years including building houses, hauling hay, working in the shop and raising 2 children, Steven and Barbara.  She loved her family, crocheting, fishing, bowling and cooking.

Gerrie passed away at her home on February 12, 2025, at the age of 85.

Gerrie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jerry Weisz, her husband, Dale and a nephew, Adam Weisz.

Survivors include her sister, Mona (Derwin) Dugger, Sun Lakes, AZ; a brother, Ron (Bonnie) Weisz, Sturgis, SD; a brother Larry (Cheryl) Weisz, Rapid City, SD; a son, Steven (Mary Kay) Barry, Sturgis, SD, and a daughter, Barb Hardman, Sturgis, SD; grandchildren – Lindsey, Stephanie, Megan, Ashley, Dustin, Amanda, Trinity, Joshua, and Gypsy; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a special friend, Sharon McNeale..
