Lead, SD - Gladys Laverne Bartels, 94 of Lead, died on April 10, 2012 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital. Survivors include four sons, Dennis (Sherrill) Vail, Sundance, WY; Donald (Valarie)Vail of Worland, WY; Delvin (Susan) Bartels, Philip, SD; Dolan (Lori) Bartels, Dixon IL; two daughters Marva Bartels, AZ; Georgia Vail, CA.; one sister Deloris Tennant, Gettysburg, SD; twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elvin Bartels, two grandchildren, three brothers and one sister. Upon her request cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. A memorial has been established to the Senior Citizens Center, 609 West Main Street, Lead, South Dakota 57754.
