Glen was born on May 7, 1952, in Casper, WY to Princess D. (Kostka) and George Shay, Jr.
Glen grew up in San Jose, CA. He worked as a pool mason at Anthony's Pools for many years, married, and had 3 children. Glen loved to ride motorcycles. In December of 1980, he was in an accident that left him congenitally challenged. His mother, Princess, became his caretaker and they moved to a ranch in Sturgis, SD. He loved to help on the ranch and made many memories there with the Rendezvous, riding his four-wheeler, and fishing.

He will be deeply missed. He was loved by many and always had a smile on his face.

Glen "Glenny" Eugene Shay, 67, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019, in Vale, SD.

Glen is survived by his mother, Princess Shay-Goodine and stepfather, Lewis Goodine of Sturgis; son, Glen (Mikal) Calatrello and grandchildren, Jhurny and Echo, all of Sturgis; daughter, Phaedra (Anthony) Lopez and grandchildren, Arturro Ramirez, and Toni and Cruz Lopez, all of California; son, Paul Shay of California; brother, Darrel (Donna) Shay of California; sisters, Candi (Robert) Rose and Juli Rast of California, and Theresa (Anselmo) Jaramillo and their children, Manuelle, Xavier, and Sophie Jaramillo of Sturgis; and several stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Shay, Jr.; and brother, Eddie Shay.

A wake will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at the Jaramillo residence in Sturgis. Any friends and family that would like to come to pay their respects to Glen, please call Theresa at 605-499-9408 for details.
