Obituary

Glenn Patrick Thomas Tifft left this world much too soon on January 3, 2026. He was born on March 17, 1989 in Rapid City, SD, again, much too soon. Pat was born more than a month premature, and after an extended stay in the NICU, he finally came home with his parents, Thomas and Brenda, sister, Jenni, and grandparents, Glenn and Inez.

He spent his childhood exploring every nook and cranny of his family’s ranch with his beloved mule, Molly Dolly Parton.

He was an avid outdoorsman, spending his spare time in the great outdoors, hunting and fishing. This love of hunting was perhaps piqued when he used his “70-70” toy gun to ensure the skunk who nearly sprayed his sister and grandma was, indeed, truly dead.

He shared his love of the outdoors with his nephew Ryan, taking him on various outdoor excursions. On one adventure they found a rare Cowasaurus Rex.

In 2017, Pat met his girlfriend, Kayla. Together, they shared a love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and animals - specifically cats.

Pat was unfailingly kind and offered a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Early one morning, he stopped on Highway 34 to help a man whose Great Pyrenees escaped from the back of his pickup. For about five minutes they chased a 110 lb. dog around and around the pickup. The dog seemed to be having a wonderful time - excitedly barking and jumping, much to the dismay of Pat and the dog’s owner! After several capture attempts and a couple of flying leaps, they finally caught the dog and Pat went on his way, a little out of breath, but happy he could help and even more pleased to have a great story to tell!

Pat will be deeply missed by his loved ones and community for not only his kindness, but also his dry sense of humor and quick wit.

He was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Glenn and Inez Tifft; his maternal grandparents, Lucy and Harold Munger; uncles Jerry Tifft and David Munger; aunt Candy Mann; and his beloved mother, Brenda Tifft.

We will miss you every day, Pat.
