PIEDMONT | Gordon Melvin Nightingale, 87, passed away as the result of an automobile accident on Feb. 5, 2014, near Piedmont.
Gordon was a Merchant Marine in World War II and then drafted by the Army for the Korean War in 1955 for two years.
Gordon is survived by his children, Father Dan (Kyra) Nightingale, Clarks Summit, PA; daughters, Jackie (Ron) Gapp, Piedmont, and Sherry Carey, Niles, MI; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his most faithful pet, Gizmo.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Johanna Nightingale; and one sister, Dorothy.
Memorial services were held Feb. 8, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Les Potts officiating.
