Retired Master Sgt. Gordon D Ondriezek 78 of Omaha, NE, died of natural causes at Ambassador Nursing Facilities in Omaha.

Born Sept 25, 1935 in Spearfish, SD, he was a 23-year veteran who was assigned at Parks AFB, Calif, Sheppard AFB Texas, Clark AFB PI , Kirtland AFB New Mexico, Chamont AFB, France, Sembach AFB Germany, Offutt AFB Ne, Scott AFB IL, Yokuta AFB Japan, Lajes Field, Azores, Anderson AFB, Guam and March AFB , Calif.

His commendations and awards include the Air Force Good Conduct Metal, Air Force Commendation Metal, Outstanding Unit Award and Joint Service Commendation Metal.

Upon retiring he attended college for two years in California and then moved to Marrero, LA, where he became a business owner until Dec. 88 when he retired from the work force. After Hurricane Katrina he spent a few years traveling before residing in Omaha, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Viola Ondriezek and his beloved wife Kathleen Ondriezek and sister Jean Russell.

Gordon is survived by his daughter Joni (Mark) Alexander of Long Beach, CA; son Mike (Trish) Ondriezek of Cedartown GA; daughter Debbi (Dave) Campbell of Bellevue, NE; and daughter Kim Ondriezek of La Combe, LA.; 7 grandchildren: Steven (Becca) Watkins and Chris Watkins of Omaha, NE; Vince (Tennie) Waguespack of Marrero, LA; Joshua Ondriezek and Kathleen Ondriezek of Cedartown, GA; Stephanie Campbell and Isaac Campbell of Bellevue, NE; and 3 Great Grandchildren: Gavin Watkins, Skylar Waguespack and Avry Watkins; 2 brothers, Donald Ondriezek of Deadwood and Neil Ondriezek of Sturgis, SD; and 2 sisters, Shirley Parks of Pierre, SD, and Edith Adams of Arizona.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Pastor Denzel Nonhof officiating and military honor provided by the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may gather at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis prior to leaving for the cemetery.
