Grazia Ruth Foster was born May 26, 1917 in Ainsworth, Nebraska. She was the first child of Guy Clayton Foster and Ruth Gerta Millard later to be joined by sisters Helen (Schenk), Phyllis (Poston), and Paulina (Kaczmarek) and brother Kenneth. She attended Mabelo School through elementary and then graduated from Ainsworth High School. Grazia Ruth Orr, 90 a long time former resident of Ainsworth and Bassett area died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at her home in Apache Junction, Arizona.
Grazia married Ray Harold Keim in 1936 and to this union two children were born, Patricia Elaine Keim (Johnson) and Steven Ray Keim. The family lived in or around Ainsworth, Nebraska for many years.
Grazia married Harold Arthur Orr in 1972 and the couple lived in Bassett, Nebraska for a short period of time before moving to Apache Junction, Arizona where she lived until her death. Harold and Grazia enjoyed 20 years of marriage until Harold's death in 1993.
Grazia was an avid photographer and worked at the Ainsworth Star Journal for many years. She covered the majority of the wedding and other special events and newsworthy happenings for the newspaper. As residents of Bassett, Nebraska both she and Harold were employed at the Rock County Hospital. After moving to Arizona, Grazia became a licensed Real Estate Agent and became a prominent figure in the Apache Villa residential real estate community in Apache Junction, Arizona.
Grazia was among the top-producing agents in her Century 21 real estate office for years, including top listing agent awards just in the last few years, competing with agents half her age. Real estate became her passion and she developed a highly successful career spanning 35 years.
Through her work and friendly nature she became close friends with many residents at Apache Villa Retirement Community where she lived and worked. She concentrated her work in Apache Villa and was responsible for the sale of many homes there.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Johnson of Houston, Texas; son Steven Keim (Bonnie) of Idaho Falls, Idaho and stepdaughter Louise Kirkbride of Lincoln, Nebraska. In addition she has 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday April 2nd at the Red Mountain Christian Center in Mesa, Arizona and burial was April 7th at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota where she was joined with her deceased husband Harold A. Orr.
