Hannah Beatrice Pederson was born March 6, 1936, in Sturgis, SD, to Charles and Irene (McDonald) Limbo. She graduated from Sturgis High School in 1955. Hannah married Richard Hobbs on December 1, 1955, in King County, Seattle, WA.
Hannah married Olin "Pete" Pederson on January 8, 1965, and to this marriage, she instantly became Mother to three children.
Hannah was a woman with many talents. She was winner of many Debate Contests in High School. She was a lifetime member of the Rebekah Assembly of South Dakota and was honored to be President from 1985 to 1986. Hannah was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked many different jobs throughout her life which included working as a waitress and cook, as a sales person, the Jailer for the Meade County Jail, and a seamstress and shipper for Black Hills Special Services.
Her last place of residency was at Heritage Acres Apartments where she made many friends. She had a very active social life playing cards or dominoes, having coffee and lunch with all her friends, attending entertainment events, and just spending time with her friends and family.
Hannah, 80, Sturgis, died Friday, December 30, 2016, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include her step-children, Westley Pederson, Sturgis, Linda Yuill and her husband, Russell, Sturgis, and Patricia Santhanam and her husband, Suresh, New Cumberland, WV; three sisters, Delores Bachand, Sturgis, Jessie Mann and her husband, Warren, Seattle, WA, and Emma Aldren, Sturgis; and sister-in-law, Diane Limbo. She also is survived by ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and four brothers, Donald, Bud, Ray, and Wes.
Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Memorials have been established to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Grace Lutheran Church.
