Obituary

Harold was born in Sturgis, SD, to Bernard and Freida (Sjullie) Davis. He was one of six children born to Bernard and Freida.

Harold graduated from Sturgis Brown High School then served two years in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Sturgis where he worked for Junior Hurley then McKie Chevrolet/Hersruds as the parts manager until his retirement in 2011.

Harold and Patty (Philipsen) were united in marriage in Ely, NV, on January 4, 1980.

Harold was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sturgis Lions Club, and Sturgis VFW. He loved fishing, woodworking, camping, working in the yard, working on vehicles, spending time with his family, and especially loved his three beautiful granddaughters.

Harold Davis, 66, Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Fort Meade, hospice unit surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Alzheimers.

His passing is definitely our loss but the Lord's gain and he will truly be missed by all. He is survived and deeply missed by his wife, Patty Davis, Sturgis; his sister, Virginia (Chubb) Baker, Ely, NV; his twin sister, Sally Blood, Anaheim, CA; his brother, Dean (Pat) Davis, Placerville, CA; sister-in-law, Lois Davis, Rapid City, SD; his son, Justin Davis, Hermosa, SD; daughter, Tina Davis Vasknetz, Hermosa, SD; daughter, Misty Davis, Yankton, SD; grandchildren, Courtney Davis, Spokane, WA, Chantel O'Brien, Rapid City, and Britney Davis, Yankton; and several nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Freida Davis; his brother, Charles Davis; and his sister, Barbara Grass.

Harold always loved Christmas and felt everyone always deserved a gift.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 18, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis with Pastor Jenene Earl officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
