Harold LeRoy Greenwaldt was born to Jacob and Pauline (Achtziger) Greenwaldt in rural Nisland, SD, on December 8, 1935.

He attended the Langdon Rural School near Nisland for grades 1-8, and he graduated from Nisland High School on May 14, 1954.

After graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served his tour of duty in the US and Germany. He was then united in marriage to Andra Jordan in Sturgis, SD, and to that union two children were born. A son was born from a second marriage.

Due to ill health, Harold had been residing at the SD Human Services Nursing Home in Yankton, SD, where he passed away Friday, November 24, 2006.

Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Hanson, Fagan, Minn.; two sons, Bradley, Knoxville, Iowa, and Harold Jr.; one brother Ervin Greenwaldt, Sun City, Ariz.; three sisters, Deloris Keil, Belle Fourche, Diane Cordova and Debra Rasch, both of Sturgis; and seven grandchildren..

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother-in-law Steven Scott, and nephews Daniel, Donald, Darian and Tommy Cordova.

A memorial service will be held at a later date with inurnment at Black Hills National Cemetery
