Harry Lee Bruce, age 81, went to his forever home on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at his home in Temple, Texas.

He was born in Valentine, Nebraska on January 28, 1945 to Carl W. Bruce and Muriel Bruce-McAlevey. Harry’s childhood was spent in Sturgis, South Dakota. He enjoyed spending his free time visiting many different National Campgrounds, spending lots of time in the outdoors, and spending time with his loved ones. 

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Muriel Bruce; Frank McAlevey (step father), siblings, Helen Yates, Roy Bruce, Don Bruce, and Harvey Bruce as well as three grandchildren Dale Simkin, Andrew Simkin, Keith Kendall. 

He is survived by his wife Leta Floydeen Bruce, children Heather Dawn Simkin, Carl Lee Bruce, and stepchildren Bernie Kendall (Tanya), Howard Kendall (Terry), Margie Kendall Erben as well as his siblings Tom Bruce (Sharon) and Dale Bruce (Joyce). Surviving grandchildren are: Harry Lee Bruce II, Hailey Bruce, Brent Simkin, Christopher Simkin, Traci King (Clayton), Mandie Busselman (Jared), Megan Brooks, Iris Bennett (Nick), Andrew Kendall (Tanya), BJ Kendall. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
