Harry Richard Cross, 73, Piedmont, passed away October 19, 2009, at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.

Harry was born May 24, 1936, in Lafayette, IN, to Harry W. and Anna Mae (Spurgeon) Cross. Harry served twenty years in the US Air Force. He was an active member of the American Legion in Piedmont.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Cross; children, Richard Cross, James Cross, Thomas Cross, Amy Black, Clara Clay, and Phil Cross; and 15 loving grandchildren.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Mae and Harry W. Cross, and a grandson, William Cross.

A memorial has been established.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Paul Lantz officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Piedmont American Legion Post #311 will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
