Harry Richard DuBray, Jr., was born July 26, 1960, to Harry Richard DuBray, Sr., and Winona Marie Brandis in Nebraska. Harry grew up in Winner, SD, before moving to Mission, SD, where he attended Todd County high school. Harry loved to paint and draw. He created many stories, art work, and comics, some of which he received awards for in high school. He continued to have a passion for art and creating throughout his life. Harry lived in Aberdeen, SD, in his early 20's before settling in Rapid City SD, where he called home for over 30 years.
Harry worked at several jewelry companies where he made many good friends who he cherished. Friendship and family were very important to him. He never had children of his own, but found fatherhood being a surrogate father to his sister, Lillian's two daughters. He had many friends throughout his life, but the one friendship he truly cherished was his friendship with his high school friend, Charles Mack. He always said, "He's more than a friend; he's family." Harry and Charles "Chuck" remained friends all through life; up until his passing, their friendship was one to be admired and brought Harry many happy memories and funny stories over the years. Harry was a one-of-a-kind man who could make you laugh, no matter what kind of day you were having. Harry would brighten a room with his unique sense of humor and big, bright smile.
Harry Richard DuBray, Jr., 59, of Rapid City, died Saturday, April 11, 2020, at his niece's house.
He is survived by his sister, Lillian M. DuBray; brother, Sheldon J. Miller; nieces, Misty R. DuBray, Winona M. Werlinger, and Lilyrose M. Sherman; and nephews, Joshua D. Sherman and William R. Sherman. Harry was loved dearly by many people and will be missed by many.
Harry joins his mother, Winona; father, Harry; sister, Elvistine; and niece, Kelly, in heaven.
