Hartson Deryl Schuetzle, 80, Sturgis, died Friday, May 29, 2015, at his residence in Sturgis.

Hartson was born March 9, 1935, at Mound City, SD, to Jacob and Martha (Ritter) Schuetzle. He grew up on the family farm and attended rural country school. After completing his education, he returned home to work on the family farm. He married Annette Mauch on December 18, 1957.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served his country honorably from 1958 until 1960. He returned home where he continued to farm and ranch until his retirement. He lived in Herreid, SD, until moving to Sturgis.

Hartson was a lifelong fan of hunting and fishing. He enjoyed horse racing and trips to Deadwood. He was active his entire life.

Survivors include his daughter, Kim Goehring, Denver, CO; son, David Schuetzle, Buffalo, MN; brothers, Tim Schuetzle, Cedar Rapids, IA, Gary Schuetzle, Northfield, MN, and Clayton Schuetzle, Clinton, IA; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and five brothers.

Committal services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard.
