Harvey Dean Bossert, 64, Hot Springs, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at the SD State Veteran's Home.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 21, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery with Chaplain Bill Zandri officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Sturgis Veteran's Honor Guard. Family and friends may gather at Kinkade Funeral Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery.

Harvey was born December 5, 1944, at Isabel, SD, to Christ and Helen (Brenner) Bossert. He grew up in Isabel. After Harvey graduated from high school, he served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1966. He then moved to Seattle where he worked for Herbert Merkel for 30 years. He returned to South Dakota and worked as a mechanic for another 10 years before moving to the State Veteran's home 15 years ago.

He enjoyed working with snowmobiles and motorcycles. Harvey also sold them for many years.

He is survived by three brothers, Don Bossert, Mobridge, SD, Jay Bossert, Lisco, NE, and James Bossert, Springview, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Judy.
