Dr. Helen Raschke, 80, died May 2, 2013, in Lead.

Helen grew up on a farm near Wessington, SD. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and taught at colleges and universities in Minnesota, Virginia, South Dakota, and Texas. She received several awards for the sixteen years she spent providing legal services to the poor.

She is survived by her husband, Vern Raschke, Lead; four children, John Raschke, Denver, CO, Richard Raschke, Frisco, TX, Ellery Daugherty, Spokane, WA, and Peggy Daugherty, Denver, CO; and two grandchildren, Joshua Raschke and Leighton Raschke, Frisco, TX.

A memorial service may be held at a later date.
