Herman "Jim" Fiedler, 92, Black Hawk, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.
Jim was born March 10, 1915, in Winner, SD, to Fritz and Florence (Baston) Fiedler. He grew up in the Twin Cities.
Jim enlisted in the US Air Force. He served as a Warrant Officer and was a B-29 Pilot. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a Civil Service Contracting Officer.
Jim was a member of the Piedmont Valley Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Shriners, serving as Naja Air Patrol Commander. He was also a lifetime member of the Elks.
He married Lois Kellem in Las Vegas, NV, on March 10, 1982.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Fiedler, Black Hawk; three daughters, Carolyn Winemiller, Kandi Hallinger, and Jamie Lee; four stepsons, Clint Bourne, Kevin Bourne, Tim Bourne, and Doug Bourne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Carl E. Lundgren, Sr., and one stepson, Randy Bourne.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at the Black Hills National Cemetery with Pastor Carol Mapa officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Sturgis Veteran's Honor Guard.
