Hilda M. Fredericksen, 77, Sturgis and formerly of Lead, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Sturgis Regional Senior Care.
Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 9:00 p.m. at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel with the family gathering at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of the Northern Hills in Deadwood with Pastor Pat McBride officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery near Deadwood.
Hilda was born December 10, 1933, at Athboy, SD, to Fredrick and Alvina (Fiechtner) Heinrich. She was delivered and named by her grandmother. She moved to Isabel at a young age where she grew up and attended school.
Hilda married Dwayne Robert Fredericksen at Deadwood, SD, on December 11, 1949. Hilda worked at the Deadwood Hospital in the lab, medical records, nurse's aide, and helped deliver her grandson while she was a surgical tech. She retired from the hospital as the director of housekeeping. She worked for F.L. Thorpe and for the City of Deadwood's visitor center, the museum, and two summers at Mt. Moriah. After she quit working, she took care of her grandkids and enjoyed retirement.
Hilda was a 61 year member of the First Baptist Church of the Northern Hills, 50 year member of the Eagles, and 50 year member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her sons, Randy (Deborah) Fredericksen, Lead, David (Claudia) Fredericksen, Lead, Tom (Lori) Fredericksen, Westminster, CO, Todd (Tricia) Fredericksen, Lead, and Ryan (Lori) Fredericksen, Deadwood; one daughter, Debra (Mickey) Dennis, Eagle Butte; sisters, Leatha (Al) Satterlee, Deadwood, Delores (Gene) Trump, St. Louis, MO, Carol (Wayne) Burchett, Black Hawk, Ruth (Tom) Nowell, Box Elder, and Linda Osborn, Deadwood; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two infant brothers, and one infant sister.
A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church of the Northern Hills.
