Hilda F. Kautz, 89, Whitewood, died Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish.
Visitation will be noon until 9:00 p.m. on Monday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Kyle Reinhiller officiating. Burial will follow at the Whitewood Cemetery.
Hilda was born October 24, 1920, at Greenway, SD, to Jacob and Catherine (Grueble) Perman. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school.
On October 15, 1939, she married Alvin Kautz. The couple farmed for several years before moving to Lead in 1952. Alvin was employed at Homestake. Hilda was a homemaker. She was active in the Lead Methodist Church.
The family moved to Whitewood in 1984 where Hilda kept busy with her garden and flowers. She was active in the Whitewood Senior Center where she loved to play bingo and was a great card player.
After her husband's death, she moved to Spearfish where she was a member of the Spearfish Senior Center.
Survivors include her son, Terry Kautz, Carson City, NV; two daughters, Betty Terrill, Vale, and Janet Taylor, Whitewood; one sister, Elsie (Reinhold) Ladner, Rapid City; three sister-in-laws; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and two son-in-laws.
A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
