Hildegard Hudson, 81, Maitland, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of the Northern Hills in Deadwood, with Pastor Pat McBride officiating. Inurnment follows at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Hildegard was born July 13, 1928 at Aubing, near Munich, Germany, to Joseph and Emilie (Reichenberger) Artner. She grew up in Germany and graduated from high school before meeting Bill Hudson, a member of the US Air Force.
The two were wed in a civil ceremony on January 12, 1957. They exchanged vows at a church on base at Furstenfieldbruck Air Force Base on January 18, 1957.
Hildegard was a Air Force mother and homemaker. She moved to the United States in 1958 and raised her family in Duluth, MN and Fairbanks, AK, before Bill retired and they settled in Maitland.
Hildegard was a member of the First Baptist Church of the Northern Hills. She enjoyed bowling and was an excellent cook.
Survivors include her husband Bill Hudson, Maitland; two daughters, Kathy (Todd) Luze, Lead, SD; Trudy Knittle, Sahuarita, AZ; also 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister.
