Imogene "Jean" Rotert was born February 26, 1934, in Presho, SD, to Jess and Mabel (Harmon) Waldron. Jean married Dale Grosch and to this union they had two sons, Richard and Kenneth. She later married Marvin Sneesby and they had one daughter, Brenda. They later divorced. On August 6, 1976, Jean married James Rotert. After retirement they moved to Whitewood, SD. Jim passed away in 2010 and Jean continued to live in Whitewood until her health prevented her from living alone.

Jean worked many years as a nurse's aide at the Sturgis Community Hospital. She made many friends throughout her life and loved them all dearly.

Our loving mother made her way home in the early morning hours of July 2, 2017, at the age of 83.

Surviving her are her children, Rich (Velta) Grosch, Whitewood, Ken (Barb) Grosch, Sturgis, and Brenda (DJ) Werlinger, Whitewood; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as several extended family members.

Family preceding her are her husband, Jim; parents, Jess and Mabel; six sisters, Myrtle, Lucille, Dorene, Alice, May, and Donna; and four brothers, Chud, Bill, Port, and Melvin.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor John Tesnow officiating. Burial will follow at the Whitewood Cemetery.
