Inez was born October 2, 1922, at Wall, SD, to William and Nora (Suing) Meirose. She graduated from Rapid City High School and obtained her teaching certificate at Black Hills Normal School in Spearfish. She taught in rural schools at Buckhorn, WY, and Elk Creek, SD.

On October 14, 1944, she married Robert C. Greear at Piedmont, SD.

Inez worked for Dr. Brown in his optometry clinic and then worked for Black Hills Power and Light. She retired as a clerk after many years of service.

She was a member of the St. Francis Altar Society, Holy Family Circle, VFW Auxiliary, Sturgis Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Buttons and Bows Club, Knit Wits Club, Good Sam Club, and the Black Hills 4 Wheelers. She was a volunteer at Fort Meade VA Hospital and the Sturgis Hospital.

She lived her life for family and was always true to Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Inez Marie Greear, 89, Sturgis, died Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Sturgis Regional Senior Care.

Survivors include her sons, Robert J. (MaryAnn) Greear, Clearmont, WY, Michael W. (Kerry) Greear, Whitewood, SD, and Timothy J. Greear, Spearfish, SD; one daughter, Rosalee A. Johnson, Sturgis; brother, Galen (Kay) Meirose, Fort Collins, CO; sister, Mary Ann Trople, Rapid City; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Mark; brothers, Jerome and Francis Meirose; sister, Geneva Urban; son-in-law,
Norman; and two brother-in-laws, Ralph Trople and Jerome Urban.

A memorial has been established to the Sturgis Public Library.
