Irene E. Homan, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Irene was born on July 6, 1952 in Watertown, SD. She is preceded by her husband, Howard Homan, who passed away in September 2014 and brother, Bob Sherer. Irene is survived by their three children, Liz (Homan) Young, Ann (Homan) Lahman and Shannon Homan and two brothers, Art and Rich Sherer. Irene also had 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Irene liked to cook and bake. She enjoyed serving as an EMT on the Keystone Ambulance Service and also managed motels in Keystone and Montana. Irene and Howard owned Indian Trail Rides in Keystone and the whole family participated in running the trail rides. She loved to travel and lived with Liz for eight months in Japan; enjoying all the sites. She also lived with Ann for six years in Colorado, enjoying the large family life. One of her most exciting trips was taking her three kids on a once in a lifetime cruise from Charleston, SC to the Bahamas. She spent the last 18 months living with her brother, Rich, watching western TV shows, Netflix movies, playing cards, eating snacks and (Irene's line) "What Not".

She truly loved family and friends and will be greatly missed.
