Irene M. Sneesby, 95, Spearfish, died Tuesday January 15, 2013, at Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be noon until 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Inurnment follows at the Oak Ridge Cemetery near Deadwood.

Irene was born May 27, 1917 at Fedora, SD, to Roy and Alvina (Johansen) Bushman. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Fedora High School.

On February 21, 1939 she married Stephen Douglas Sneesby at Howard, SD. The family farmed near Carthage until 1953 when they moved to Lead. They lived in Lead until 1990 when Homestake bought their home. They moved to Sturgis where they lived until 2011.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Kim and Dave Derosier and their staff at Garden Hills Assisted Living for their loving care.

Survivors include her son Doug Sneesby, Deadwood; daughters, Beverly (Howard) Fisher, Rapid City, Lenora (Les) Rieger, Eugene, OR, Edna (Terry) Allerdings, Lead, Sheila Hughes, Spearfish; also 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Joyce, three brothers and three sisters.
