IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacqueline Imgard
Hedlund
June 24, 1968 – March 6, 2014
On March 6th, 2014, Jacqueline Hedlund was surrounded by family and friends, and the room was filled with so much love as she took her last breath in a long battle with cancer. We may have lost our beautiful and full-of-light angel here on Earth, but heaven gained an incredible soul.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 10, 2014, at Believer's Fellowship Church with Chaplain Randy Bradley officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 9:00am until time of service at the church.
Jaque graced the world with her presence on June 24th, 1968, in Wurzburg, Germany. Jaqs made her way to the states in December 1989, and shortly after she met the love of her life, Greg. There was an instant attraction between these two beautiful souls and they were friends for 5 years before they started dating. It was bliss for both of them and they got married a year later on June 20th, 1996.
In June of 2000 her first baby, Buddy, came into her life and a year later Tammy arrived. She now had her first pair of mating Jack Russell Terriers and Jaque found a new passion that filled her with happiness. She showed several of their dogs in Colorado & Nebraska where several awards were won.
During this time Jaque was also going to nursing school. She was the 2nd person ever in the state of South Dakota to ace her nursing exam. She graduated in July 2001 as an LPN. Nursing was her greatest passion of all, so it was no surprise when she went back to school for her Batchlors & Masters at the same time. Her love for nursing showed every day by the people that fell in love with her infectious nature. It also showed when she took over Living Skills. This program is for people with drug and alcohol addiction. As a natural born leader, this program went from a 20% success rate to a 93% success rate when Jaque took over, just proving her drive for success in herself and others around her.
Jacque was not only beautiful and incredibly intelligent; she was also one of the funniest people most of us ever knew. She loved to laugh and if she liked you, she was picking on you. Greg was her absolute favorite to pick on, which showed just how deep her love was for him. When Jaqs walked into a room it lit up as if an angel had arrived, which it had. There was an essence about her that was as addictive as her laugh. When you met Jaque she made you feel as if you were the most important person to her. Never shy to give hugs & soft touches, lend an ear and shoulder when needed, and was happy to give advice. She always took the time to touch your soul, if you were willing to accept it. She was also great at accepting everyone for who they were and where they were on their journey of life.
Filled with a passion for life itself, this beautiful soul also loved to ride her motorcycle and 4-wheeler. She had a great eye when it came to hunting and was a really good shot. And her love for the outdoors also showed in her love of gardening, fishing, & camping. Singing was another thing that Jaqs loved and like everything else in her life she sang with passion from her heart.
Jaque is preceded in death by her father, Robert Perkins in 1972, and her brother, Deiter Gehling in 2007, and is survived by her husband, Gregory Hedlund; her mother, Johanna Perkins; three brothers, Peter Gehling, Ralph Perkins, and Randy Perkins; nephew, Stephen Gehling; and two nieces, Martina Gehling and Michaela Gehling.
Memorials can be made to the following funds: St. Jude's Hospital & Hospice of the Northern Hills.
