Jake Raynold

August 27, 1931 – November 21, 2025
Jake Raynold Wolf of Sturgis SD and previously a long-time resident of Gascoyne ND, passed away on November 21, 2025 after a brief, but brave battle with cancer.
Jake was born at home in rural Regent ND on August 27, 1931. He was one of thirteen children born to Christ and Anna (Schlaht) Wolf.
He attended rural school and lived on his parent's farm until he entered the US Army in 1952. He served in the Korean War until 1954, when he was honorably discharged. He married the love of his life, Rosalie Clark in Rhame ND on June 17, 1956.
He worked various jobs and moved with his family to Gascoyne ND in 1968. He began working as a lineman for the Milwaukee RR in 1970. In 1982 he continued his career working for Burlington Northern RR until his retirement in 1994. Jake and Rosalie sold their homestead in Gascoyne and moved to Sturgis SD in 2012.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way.
He loved fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends. He had a strong work ethic and could build or fix just about anything. He took great pride in maintaining his home and property.
He loved playing the accordion for family members and always enjoyed attending family weddings where he could kick up his heels to polkas and waltzes. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie of 69 years, and three children; Rita Wolf (Lynn Tomaro), Cindy (Dave) Wagner, and Jay Wolf. Grandchildren; Michelle (Brandon) Rigby, Michael Wagner, Brian Wagner, Whitney (Trent) Manganello, Chaundra Wolf, and Austin (Mikayla) Wolf; and seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest (Mardell), Gary; three sisters, Dorothy (Russ) Pollock, Helen (Bob) Donner and Lorraine Mirth. In laws, Carlyle Clark, Patti Clark and Verna Torpen; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Marvin, Willie, John, Harold, Leota, Elsie and Alice.
Special thanks to the staff for the wonderful care he received in Hospice at the Community Living Center, Fort Mead VA facility in Sturgis SD.
