James William "Bill" Stambaugh of Spearfish, SD, died peacefully surrounded by family on June 23, 2020. Born June 25, 1931, in Stevens County, MN, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Stambaugh; a son, Daniel William Stambaugh; mother, Florence D Stambaugh; and many of his siblings.
He is survived by his son, Dean (Stacy) and daughter, Kay. He is also survived by grandchildren, Michael (Melissa), Sara (Mike), Allison (Marcus), Daniel, and Isaac; and great-grandchildren, Atlas, Josie, and Osiris. A few siblings, along with many other relatives and friends, will miss his calm and steady presence.
Following informal gatherings to celebrate his life in the Black Hills and in Milaca, MN, interment will be in Milaca's Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to either the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
