James "Buz" Ronald Ferguson was born December 15, 1942, in Gordon, NE, to James and Silvia (Williamson) Ferguson. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965. He worked as a long haul Truck Driver, Coal Miner, and a Motel Owner. In 1974, he moved to Gillette, WY. In 1982, he bought and operated a motel in Custer, SD. He was very outgoing and had friends all over the country.

James Ronald "Buz" Ferguson died on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Ferguson; son, Heath Ferguson; daughters, Jamie (Allen) Hockenbary and Stephinie Ferguson; and six grandchildren, Corey, Collin, Layla, and Cole Hockenbary, and Jared and Terran Ferguson.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Matilida Mae Ferguson; father, James Corey Ferguson; and mother, Silvia Viola Mae Ferguson.

Graveside services will be Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating.
