Newcastle, Wy - James Eugene Franklin, 79 of Newcastle, WY passed away November 14, 2011 at the Weston County Health Care Services in Newcastle. He was born in New Haven, WY to Earl and Viola (Denniston) Franklin. James worked at the Hauber Mine and the Homestake Mine in Lead SD from 1966-1968. He also worked at the Homestake Mine in Creede, CO. from1968-1985, and did other odd jobs until his retirement in 1987. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, fishing, boating, and camping during his retirement. Survivors include his daughters, Raelene (Kurtis) Wilson, Cleburne,TX, and Roxy (Gayle) Weeg, Newcastle, WY; 5 grandchildren Justin Wilson, and Trista (Wilson) Wiggins, Cleburne, TX and Lonnie, Jesse and Colton Weeg, Newcastle, WY; 2 great-grandchildren Keyana Viken and Kenzington Wilson; 2 sisters, Goldie Mae and Laura Marie; a half sister, Doris Bollerslev, Sheridan, WY, and 1 step-brother, Jim (Flossie) Bolin, Tecumseh, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Merton, Edward, Melvin and Albert; half brother Lloyd Franklin; step-sister, Alice Bolin and a step-brother Jack Bolin. Upon his request, cremation has taken place and burial will be held at a later date.
