Obituary

James Allen Hemmah, 83, Sturgis, was born June 9, 1932 at Roslyn, SD. He was the youngest of nine, attending rural country school and Roslyn High School. Jim was drafted into the United States Army in 1953, serving until 1955.

He married Beverly Aadland at Skudesness Lutheran Church on June 8, 1957. Jim and Beverly moved to Minneapolis where Jim attended Northwest Electronics Institute while Beverly taught elementary school in Bloomington, MN. After Jim's graduation, they were offered an opportunity to purchase a wholesale electronics business in Grand Forks, North Dakota, which became their home for the next 25 years.

Their wholesale business evolved into Team Electronics, and they expanded their business into four locations. Jim and Bev raised their three children; Allen, Wesley and Julie in Grand Forks on a hobby farm outside of town. They were involved in Calvary Lutheran Church and hosted many events on their farm ranging from horse shows to airstream rallies to painting the church bus in Jim's shop.

After the kids finished high school, Jim and Bev retired to the Black Hills of South Dakota. They purchased land outside of Sturgis and started Rush-No-More campground in 1995. When they sold the campground, they moved into Sturgis, where Jim was often seen driving his golf cart around town. Jim enjoyed fishing, wood working, the Sturgis Bike Rally and visiting with friends and family about his Norwegian heritage.
