James B. Kinney, 77, Sturgis, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at his home.

He served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 3, 1950, to June 5, 1952.

Survivors include one son, James Kinney; three daughters, Christine Ann Kinney, Cheryl Marie Kinney and Alyce Mae Kinney; six brothers, DeLayne Kinney, Bill Kinney, Don Kinney and Rob Kinney, all of Sturgis, Jack Kinney, Rapid City, and Paul Kilzer, Madrid, Iowa; and one sister, Coral Smith, Sturgis.

His wife preceded him in death.

Committal services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with the Rev. Michael Fox officiating and military honors by Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends are encouraged to gather at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis before going to the cemetery.
