Obituary

James L. Kulpa, 51, Sturgis, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at Sturgis Regional Senior Care Center.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Father Bill Zandri officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery

James L. Kulpa Sr., the eldest son of Pastor Barth and Katherine (McLaughlin) Kulpa was born September 23, 1955, in Flint, MI. He resided most of his youth with his grandmother were he had many memories of her farm.

Upon graduation from high school, James enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served in Korea and the Philippines as well as the USA for over 14 years as a supervisor in the Fuel Supply Squadron.

Upon retirement, James attended American National University and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. James loved his children very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He was also a member of the American Legion and received certificates of Service and Commendation.

He is survived by five children; James Jr., John, Justin, Julia and Jemmalyn Kulpa all of Box Elder; his father, Barth Kulpa, Hermiston, OR; two brothers, John Kulpa, Wasialla, AK, and Richard (Diedre) Kulpa, Iraq; two sisters, Debbie (Glen Jr.) Johns, Juneau, AK, and Tina (Al) Tragis, Pocatello, ID; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
