IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Melvin
Lassle
June 8, 1944 – December 9, 2018
Jim was born June 8, 1944, at Sedalia, MO, to August and Genevieve L. (White) Lassle. He served in the United States Air Force as a clerk typist for several colonels. He always sat with his back to the wall so no one could look over his shoulder. This was a habit he carried with him the rest of his life. He spent his entire tour of duty overseas in France and Germany during the Vietnam War.
Jim married Sandra K. Leger on September 5, 1971, and they finally settled in Sturgis in 1990.
He retired in 2011, after 27 years running his own carpet cleaning business. During the last 7 years, he kept busy taking pictures of houses for insurance companies.
He loved his family and doing family history work. He also loved serving in his many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved raising flowers in his yard and his home, and he collected matchbox cars.
James Melvin Lassle, 74, Sturgis, died Sunday, December 9, 2018, at the VA Black Hills Health Care Center at Fort Meade, SD.
