Janice Moss 84, of Rapid City, SD, passed away February 13, 2025, surrounded by her family at the Monument Health Hospice House. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, SD. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Janice was born on October 5, 1940, in Hudson, SD to William and Olga (Benson) Larson. Janice graduated from Hudson High School in 1958.

Janice married the love of her life, Richard Moss, on January 19th, 1963, in Rapid City, SD. They welcomed their daughter Sheri on October 26, 1964. Janice and Richard were married for over 60 years, until Richard's passing on May 11, 2024.

Janice worked in clerical positions throughout the years. She was also blessed to help her sister Jeanie with bookkeeping for her trucking business.

Janice could be found at church every Sunday. She enjoyed playing bunko with friends, watching Post 22 games with Richard, and playing the slots in Deadwood. Janice also enjoyed sewing, bird watching on the back deck of her home, and baking sweet treats for everyone to enjoy. Most of all, Janice loved spending time with her family.

Janice fought bravely against dementia her later years in life. Despite all dementia took from her, she never lost her smile.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheri (Tal) Petersen, Rapid City; grandchildren, Nicole Williams  (Richard McDonald) , Black Hawk, Joshua (Mikenzi) Petersen, Rapid City, Tifany (Jeremy) Delahoyde, Spearfish, Katelyn (Dominic) Bradford, Black Hawk; seven great-grandchildren Brooke, Logan, Camden, Kendyl, Berkley, Drew, Easton, with another grandson on the way; and sister, Eleanor Wevik, Beresford, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents, William and Olga Larson; brother, Myron Larson; sisters, Marian Castle, Doris Hughes and Jeanie Kaderlik.
