Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jason Ray Evans of Sturgis, South Dakota, who was called to his eternal resting place on March 7th, 2024, at the age of 40. Born to Roxy Peterson on July 5th, 1983, in Sturgis, SD. Undoubtedly Jason was a man with many talents, and he will be remembered for his extraordinary ability to wheelie through even the toughest of days.

Jason's life was a high-speed chase of happiness and adventure, leaving us all in a trail of laugh out loud moments and fond exhaust. With a wrench in one hand and a joke in the other, oftentimes Jason could be found working on his motorcycle or kicking up dust in the side by side. He found solace in the little things in life and truly cherished his family and friends.

A seasoned foreman in the water well drilling industry, Jason was respected for his skill and expertise in the field. A legendary driller by trade, he bore through life with a smile on his face.

Left to cherish his memory are those he held dear, his significant other, Cheryl Becker; son, Dominic Evans; daughter, Danica Evans; parents, Jeff and Roxy Peterson; siblings, Brandy, Brenda, Brandon, Eric, and Crystal. A host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins along with a very special family; the Carters, Zack and his parents, Brian and Kelly.

Preceding Jason in death are his beloved Grandparents Don and Ileen Anders, Great Grandparents, Lyman and Dottie Hefner; Great Grandparents, Roy and Lillian Anders; Grandmother, Jean Peterson, and two cousins, Robert Fees and Michael Anders.

A traditional service celebrating Jason's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis SD, on Saturday, the 16th of March at 2:30. Following the service, Jason will be laid to rest at Bear Butte Cemetery. We may mourn the loss of Jason, but we also celebrate the enduring legacy of his life's journey. Let's keep the rubber burning and the memories turning.

So, here's to Jason, the man who lived life in the fast lane and had a heart as big as his tailpipes. He was the king of the road less traveled, and his laughter was like fuel to our souls. Though he has taken the off ramp to the great beyond, his laughter and love for life will keep on cruising in the memories of all those who knew him. Jason's riding the clouds now, probably doing donuts. His rumbling heart and contagious smile will be greatly missed. Ride high Jason.
