BLACK HAWK -- Jennifer E. Pigsley, 54, of Black Hawk, died December 25, 2011 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House in Rapid City. Jennifer (Jenny) Pigsley was born August 12th, 1957 at St. John's Hospital in Rapid City, SD. Growing up in an Air Force family, her travels took her to England, Texas, and Alaska before coming back to Rapid City where her dad retired. Jenny graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1975 where she met her soul mate Steve Pigsley. They were married 35 years. She worked at Landstrom's Black Hills Gold until 1981. In 1982, she started her 27-year career with Sanmina-SCI where she became a repair operator and traveled to different cities across the country to assist in the training and board repairs at other plants in her job. During that time, Jenny made numerous friendships and was a little bit of a rule breaker (M&M's on the line), and always took pride in the quality of her work. She was very involved in her son's sports activities and loved being the score keeper at baseball games. She never missed any of her children's baseball, football, or basketball games. She was an avid and vocal Vikings fan. After the marriage of her two boys, her new love became her grandchildren. She loved being active in her grandchildren's life, not only by playing, but talking and being friends with them. Jenny loved reading and shared that love with her grandchildren as well. One phrase that her grandchildren will always remember is Nana saying "walk it off." In her spare time, she enjoyed needle point, crocheting, cooking for her family, and shopping. In 2009, she was diagnosed with cancer and the primary tumor was successfully removed. That fall she started college to become a paralegal while undergoing her cancer treatment. While in school, she became a member of the South Dakota Paralegal Association and completed her internship at the state attorney's office until her graduation in May 2011. In April of 2011, she started her second bout with cancer. She overcame many obstacles while maintaining a positive attitude. During her stays at Rapid City Regional Hospital, she became friends with several hospital personnel; many of whom noted their admiration of Jenny's positive attitude, strong will, and kindness. On October 21st, 2011 Jenny was baptized. Each day her walk with the Lord grew stronger. On Christmas day, surrounded by her family, she went home to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ with him. Forever in our hearts......... Survivors include her husband Steven L. Pigsley; two sons, Anthony D. (Robin) Pigsley, Rapid City, and Paul M. (Laura) Pigsley, Rochester. MN; grandchildren, Brittany, Alexandria, Jazmyn, Caden, Peyton and Hannah Pigsley; a brother, Scott McDonald; two sisters, Suzanne A. Stoeser, Ft. Pierre, and Amy Hight, Rapid City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Carol McDonald. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at Calvary Chapel Community Church at 320 E.
