Jennifer “Jenna” or “Jenny” Ann Tooker was born to James “Jim” and Beverly “Bev” Schoonover in Billings, Montana, on November 22, 1977. She passed away on March 18, 2026, in Newell, South Dakota, at the young age of 48.

Jenna spent many of her formative years in Montana and South Dakota. As a young adult, she enjoyed traveling abroad and immersing herself in other cultures. Jenna lived in England from March 1995 to March 1999. While there, she enjoyed exploring historical landmarks and having the presence and laughter of children in her home through her licensed daycare. In 2000, Jenna lived in Korea, where she was the talented lead singer of a local band that performed several cover songs. Memorable songs Jenna performed included “The Rose” by Bette Midler and “When You Say Nothing at All” by Alison Krauss. After traveling abroad to Germany, France, and Japan, Jenna eventually returned to the United States, where she spent the remainder of her years living in Arizona, Montana, Colorado, and South Dakota. During this time, she established a selfless career as a correctional officer at a women’s prison in Arizona. She eventually dove deep into her creative energy and became the owner of several tattoo shops located in Great Falls, Montana, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Rapid City, South Dakota. Jenna developed a talent as a color tattooist and skilled piercer with a keen eye for detail. Jenna also extended her care beyond her immediate family, fostering youth from several communities. All who had the pleasure of knowing Jenna knew that she was a friend you could count on. She was a friend who would go above and beyond in the most unforgettable and loving of ways to ensure others felt safe, supported, and a part of her “pack.” Jenna only knew one way to love, and that was fiercely and with her whole heart. She was a beautifully strong and intelligent daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who accomplished anythinvg she set her mind to. Jenna was an untamed soul with a warm smile and the ability to effortlessly connect with anyone. 

Jennifer was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Leah Buchholz and Reinhold Buchholz; her paternal grandparents, Earl Schoonover and Gloria Schoonover; and her aunts and uncles, Leonard Buchholz, James Buchholz, Ray Buchholz, and Lois Schoonover. 

Jenna is survived by her four children, Destiny Devine (Schoonover) and her husband, Collin “Odis” Devine; Dakotah Tooker; Tristen Tooker and his wife, Abi Raiter; and Tyler Tooker. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Dax and Benji Devine; her parents, Bev Schoonover and Jim Schoonover; her two sisters, Shannon Eigenberger and Sonia Westburg; and her brother, Sean Schoonover; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. 

When you listen closely, you will hear Jenna in the rhythm of a music note and the deep rumble of a Harley-Davidson Sportster. You will see her fluttering by on the orange wings of a monarch butterfly. You will catch a quick wink of her in the sharp shine of Flathead Lake, Montana. Jenna’s memory will linger in the sweet fragrance of Tiger Lilies and live forever, gently held within our hearts. 

A Celebration of Life will was held at LifeSpring Wesleyan Church in Sturgis, South Dakota, on August 22, 2026.
