Jerold P "Jerry" O'Donnell

Jerold P. O'Donnell, 60, Sturgis, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Jerry was born November 15, 1947, in Ft. Pierre, SD, to Pat and Nancy (Sandland) O'Donnell. He grew up in Ft. Pierre and graduated from Ft. Pierre High School. He spent his entire life ranching and trucking. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1967. Following his honorable discharge, Jerry returned to South Dakota and ranched in the Ft. Pierre, Eagle Butte, and Faith area for the next 30 years.

He married Loretta Hahne in Rapid City on January 21, 1991. They moved to Sturgis in the mid 1990's.

Jerry was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

He enjoyed playing cards and watching TV.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta O'Donnell, Sturgis, and her 10 children; 45 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Loretta's son, Daryl; and an infant brother.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Arnold Kari officiating.
